British Criticism of Its Government Amid the Revelation of Participation in the Saudi War on Yemen

The British press escalated its criticism of the government on Wednesday following its announcement of participation in the Saudi war on Yemen.

British media published new details about the British operation in Yemen.

The British Times quoted sources as saying that the scope of operations in Yemen is wider than what the British Defense Minister announced, reviewing Saudi forces launching attacks on land and coastal areas in Yemen.

British newspapers criticized what they described as the government’s lying when it spoke of sending a refueling aircraft to Saudi Arabia.

The British government had acknowledged, through its Prime Minister and Defense Minister, participation in the Saudi war on Yemen, but it tried to downplay the support by speaking of sending a refueling aircraft.

Britain is already deploying fighter jets in several areas in the Middle East.

Yemeni forces had earlier announced repelling a squadron of fighter jets, including British “Typhoon” aircraft, during an attempt to rescue the pilot of an F-15 fighter jet that was shot down in Marib days ago.

Yemeni cities are being subjected to the largest wave of aerial bombardment, exceeding 900 raids, according to official statements.

Those raids have left civilian casualties across Yemen, most notably the Central Prison massacre in Al-Jawf, where dozens of martyrs and wounded fell in airstrikes.
