Sirens Sound in New Saudi Cities as a Yemeni Operation Begins

The scope of the Yemeni operation in the Saudi mainland expanded on Thursday, with sirens recorded sounding in new cities.

The Saudi Civil Defense activated sirens in Tabuk and Jeddah in recent minutes, just minutes after the coalition spokesman announced that Taif and Yanbu were subjected to a wide-scale attack.

Developments in Saudi territory indicate that the new Yemeni operation has just begun and may continue for hours.

Although Yemeni forces have been carrying out operations in Saudi cities for weeks, the new operation appears to have expanded geographically with Tabuk joining the list of targets, after bombardment in recent days concentrated on Jizan, Najran, Abha, and Khamis Mushait, in addition to Taif, Jeddah, Yanbu, and Al-Ula, reaching the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

It also indicates an escalation in its pace, given reports of dozens of missiles and drones launched during the first batch of the operation, which is rare.
