A rights organization on Monday condemned the targeting of a civilian house in Al-Ma’afir District in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in the killing of three women and an elderly man and the wounding of three civilians, in an initial toll.

The “Intisaf” Organization for Women’s and Children’s Rights said in a statement that targeting a house inhabited by civilians, and the fall of dead and wounded including women and the elderly, represents a grave violation of the rules of protecting civilians and international humanitarian law.
It warned that the continuation of the war and the siege on Yemen exacerbates the humanitarian and living conditions, and threatens the lives of civilians, especially women and children.
The organization demanded accountability for the perpetrators of grave violations of international humanitarian law, the protection of civilians and civilian objects, and guaranteeing justice for the families of the victims and reparation for the damages inflicted on them.
The Al-Ma’afir crime came a day after the martyrdom of 7 civilians and the wounding of about 40 others by a Saudi bombardment that targeted the market of the Economic Corporation at Mafraq Mawiyah, east of Taiz, in conjunction with Saudi Arabia’s escalation of its aggressive raids on several areas in the governorate.
