The occupation continues its war on the olive trees of the West Bank

Israeli occupation forces fired a barrage of tear gas canisters at dozens of Palestinian farmers today as they harvested olives in the Ein Rutba area of Deir Abu Mash’al, northwest of Ramallah. A photojournalist was injured by a rubber-coated bullet, and several civilians suffered from tear gas inhalation.

Al Jazeera’s Montaser Nassar reported that Israeli forces suppressed the farmers in an area near an outpost where settlers congregate.

Paramedics also treated a number of Palestinians for symptoms of suffocation due to tear gas inhalation.

Sources added that settlers arrived in the area in small four-wheel-drive vehicles, entered Palestinian land, and harvested fruit from trees. They also noted that settlers in other areas, including Deir Ibzi’, vandalized olive trees on Friday.
