Fire Aboard an Oil Tanker After Being Hit by a Projectile in the Strait of Hormuz

Follow-ups — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority reported a new security incident targeting a tanker while it was sailing in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Authority explained in a statement that the ship’s captain reported that the side of the tanker was hit by a projectile whose source wasn’t known, which led to a fire breaking out on board, while it was heading to leave the strait.

The incident comes amid the escalation of regional tensions and disputes over the movement of ships through this vital maritime passage, in light of Tehran’s closure of the strait in response to the American aggression against it.
