Saudi Arabia began on Saturday the evacuation of the largest military base in southern Yemen, this coincides with the approach of the Sana’a forces to it.

Local sources in Lahj reported the beginning of the Saudi forces’ evacuation of Al-Anad Base, one of the most important military bases on the Gulf of Aden.
The sources explained that military columns including heavy military equipment were seen during the past few hours leaving the base toward the depth of Aden city, affirming that Saudi directives decided the evacuation of the important military equipment and officers from the base for fear of its falling into the hands of those it described as the “Houthis.”
Al-Anad Base is located a few dozen kilometers from the last point of confrontations west of Lahj.
The evacuation decision came with the Sana’a forces’ control over the most important mountain heights overlooking the base in the districts of Al-Maqatirah and Tur Al-Baha.
