Saudi Arabia on Saturday lost the western garrison of Aden Governorate, the most important of its areas of control in southern Yemen and the temporary capital of the government loyal to it there. So what are the most prominent developments?
Exclusive — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
In a lightning military operation carried out earlier on Friday and until the dawn of Saturday, the Sana’a forces managed to tighten their control over the most important and prominent strategic sites west of Aden city, where reports coming from Lahj affirm the advance of the Sana’a forces toward Tur Al-Baha District after tightening their control over Al-Maqatirah, its historic fortress, and its impregnable stronghold known for its importance in securing Aden throughout history.
The recent and accelerating advances strengthened the Sana’a forces’ control over all the areas of the western garrison of Aden, starting from Bab Al-Mandeb and reaching the outskirts of Tuban, not to mention Al-Mudaribah, Ras Al-Arah, and Tur Al-Baha, all of which are districts leading to the coast of Aden on the Gulf of Aden.
The recent developments not only strengthen the Sana’a forces’ control over the main supply lines of the Saudi-loyal factions, whether via the coastal line or those coming from the direction of Al-Anad, but granted them a wide vision of the depth of Aden city, which has become about 90 kilometers away from the lines of confrontation.
The current effects of the recent victories were not limited to tightening the noose on what remains of the pockets of southern factions stationed south of Al-Mandeb by cutting their supply lines and leaving them to face their fate, but extended to the military depth in light of the reports about the beginning of the evacuation of Al-Anad Base in Lahj of the forces, even though it was the most prominent center of support and backing for the advancing fronts west of Lahj.
