The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that approximately 1.98 million people in the Gaza Strip, representing 94% of its population, urgently require assistance to provide shelter and non-food items. UNRWA stated on its official website on Friday that 58% of the Strip’s residents face critical or catastrophic shelter needs. The agency noted that its winter needs assessment, which covered 113 sites for internally displaced persons (IDPs), revealed 18 unsafe emergency shelters, including four at extremely high risk of collapse, six at high risk, and eight at moderate risk.
