Saudi Officer, Two Soldiers Kidnapped in Mareb

Mystery surrounds the fate of a Saudi officer and soldiers who were kidnapped, on Sunday, in the Marib province, northeast of Yemen.

Local sources in the city of Marib accused Al-Qaeda organization operatives of kidnapping the Saudi commander and two soldiers of his guards.

The sources explained that gunmen from Al-Qaeda organization kidnapped on Saturday evening a Saudi military commander and two of his companions, as they left Marib towards Al-Wadiah border crossing.

The move came as a protest against a drone raid believed to be American, which targeted last week a meeting of Al-Qaeda leaders with Islah Party militia leaders at the home of Sheikh bin Jalal.

According to the sources, the Saudi-led coalition forces and the pro-coalition Hadi’s government authorities have reservations about the identity of the kidnapped Saudi leader.
