Why Would Sana’a Target Saudi Oil Facilities?

The suffering of Yemeni citizens is intensifying as the coalition continues to detain oil derivatives ships, where the oil company in Sana’a announced on Thursday that its stock of oil derivatives has run out, and that coalition carried out acts of piracy on an emergency ship after it approached the port of Hodeida, despite obtaining a license entry from United Nations.

Exclusive-alkhabar alyemeni:

According to citizens and official data issued by Sana’a, the suffering has reached its maximum due to the lack of fuel, as the price of transportation bus has increased by 100%, and food prices double.

A statement by Health ministry in late January revealed fears of stopping a number of vital sectors. The statement said that the numbers and indicators show part of the disaster details, and it is constantly increasing in the case of the continued prevention of oil derivatives and the deliberate destruction to health system.

Stopping supplying health sector with energy derivatives will lead to catastrophic results, most notably:

the work interruption of 150 government hospitals

the interruption of 189 private hospitals

The interruption of 10 oxygen factories

Suspension of all intensive care departments in public and private hospitals

All major and minor operations departments will be stopped

Threatening to stop 15 government dialysis centers, five charitable and private dialysis centers will threaten the lives of 5,000 dialysis patients

Threat of 2000 critical cases of newborns in need of care and nursery

Threatening the lives of 500 deliveries that need caesarean sections daily

The interruption of all diagnostic and radiotherapy methods

All communication and movement between provinces is cut off, an increase in the disaster and aggravation of the situation due to the inability of patients to reach specialized centers such as oncology for treatment.

The interruption of oil derivatives will lead to an environmental disaster related to the environment and sanitation, failure to obtain clean drinking water will lead to an environmental disaster and the spread of diseases and epidemics.

Sana’a: We will not remain silent about the suffering of our people

The continuation of the blockade and the detention of oil derivatives ships has always been one of the main motives for Sana’a forces to respond to the coalition, as the leader of Anssarallah affirmed on more than one occasion, “Yemenis have the legitimate right to defend themselves, and confronting the Saudi coalition, its missiles, and its ongoing siege for seven years now.”

In this context, Sana’a forces confirmed in a statement the announcement of the third Yemen Cyclone operation, It “will not stand idly by, when it sees the great people of Yemen suffering from the scourge of the suffocating siege and more aggressive crimes are being committed against them.”

According to experts, Sana’a forces see themselves in the position of responsibility for alleviating the suffering of Yemenis, it is certain that it will not hesitate to strike vital and strategic targets, particularly oil installations in the Saudi and Emirati depths.

The strikes may be very similar to the operation targeting Abqaiq and Khurais. As long as the suffering has reached such a fatal extent, there are no indications on the part of coalition to release the detained oil ships.

Saudi Arabia should not rejoice at the rise in oil prices.

Despite the International Energy Agency’s announcement Tuesday, that member states will release 60 million barrels of oil from their strategic reserves, to achieve stability in global markets, half of them will be released by United States, 30 million barrels. However, on Thursday, the price of a barrel of oil reached 115 dollars, the highest price since 2008, the war and sanctions against Moscow have fueled concerns about global supplies.

The United States is trying to pressure on Saudi Arabia and UAE to raise their oil production, however, the latter two are taking advantage of the crisis to pressure on Biden administration to classify Anssarallah movement on the terrorist list, this faces opposition in Washington due to fears of the repercussions of this classification on the future of war in Yemen, where Washington realizes that it has reached a dead end and such classification will escalate Sana’a operations as it cuts off any path towards peace.

In light of this crisis that the global market is suffering from taxed by the United States and the West, Washington should also consider the consequences of the continued blockade of Yemen. As Sana’a is likely to implement deterrent operations that strike vital targets in the Saudi and Emirati depths, which will make global oil prices hotter, In September 2019, when Sana’a struck Abqaiq and Khurais facilities, Saudi Arabia lost 50% of its production, an estimated five million barrels, while Washington is now pressing to increase Saudi production by a maximum of one million barrels.

This blockade is made possible by US support for coalition, tells US Senator Rand Paul.
