13 members of UAE-backed southern transitional council were killed and injured on Tuesday in a car bomb blast in Abyan province, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources mentioned that the commander of security-belt forces, Abdual-Latif Al-Sayyed escaped an assassination attempt by a car bomb targeted his convoy in Amodiyah area of Zunjbar city, led to killing four of his guards and wounding 13 others.
The sources affirmed that the car bomb was parked next to the road to be detonated remotely as the convoy was passing then fierce clashes erupted between unknown gunmen and Al-Sayyed elements.
