President of pro-Houthis Supreme Political Council (SPC), the highest ruling authority in Sana’a, Mahdi al-Mashat, called on scholars, intellectuals, writers, and media professionals to highlight the meanings of unity as a requirement of Yemen’s pride, role, status, and future of its generations, and the associated noble connotations.

In his speech on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Yemeni unity, Sunday, al-Mashat stressed absolute confidence that all the bets of Yemen’s enemies have failed, but all indications are that the battle is still long, as the aggressor outside is represented in the countries of Saudi coalition that led by America and Britain, and with it the international community supporting and siding against Yemen, all of them continue to be evil against Yemen.

Al-Mashat also stressed the concern for a real and lasting peace based on the general fundamental demands of a total end to war, siege, occupation, reconstruction, and addressing all the effects and repercussions of the war.

He deeply regretted the shocking and disappointing engagement of the Saudi coalition with the obligations stipulated in the armistice clauses, and that it had wasted most of its near-term period of time without showing the required level of respect for the obligations.

President of Sana’a SPC, addressed the violations since the truce came into force at midnight yesterday, which amounted to thousands. “In any case, we can say that the truce was not encouraging enough and if there is any virtue in the steadfastness of the truce, it is only due to the high level of patience and restraint that Sana’a has had throughout the truce,” he said.

“In this context, we affirm that we are not against the extension of the truce, but what is not possible is to accept any truce in which the suffering of our people continues, which makes me call for genuine and encouraging cooperation leading to improved humanitarian and economic benefits in any future lull, and to discuss further humanitarian and economic solutions as a strict priority that calls for alleviating the suffering of the besieged Yemeni people, which will have a positive impact on the entire peace process in Yemen,” he said.
