Foreign Oil Companies Intend to Leave Shabwa

Local media revealed on Saturday the intention of foreign oil companies to leave Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, for security reasons.

Houthi-run “Al-Mahariya” TV channel quoted sources it described as private, saying that “the oil companies operating in the oil fields in Shabwa province intend to leave the province due to security concerns.”

The sources revealed to “Al-Mahariya” the intentions of foreign oil companies to leave “Janat Hunt” fields and “Al-Uqla” oil field in Ayyath area during the next two weeks, in the event of the persistence of security concerns and the failure to find radical solutions to end the differences with the National Salvation Government in Sana’a.

A few days ago, the National Salvation Government in Sana’a had adopted an attack targeting Al-Dhaba port in Shabwa with two drones, while a merchant ship was trying to loot 2 million barrels of crude oil from the Al-Uqla oil field, and threatened with targeting foreign companies and naval ships if the looting of oil wealth continues from the Yemeni provinces under the control of the Saudi-led coalition forces.
