Dozens of merchants of Sheikh Othman area in the city of Aden, declared on Monday the resumption of their comprehensive strike.

Local sources said the merchants returned to the strike in refusal to royalties imposed by the militias of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), considering them illegal.

The merchants emphasized that imposing levies doubled their suffering and burdens the citizens with the double prices, noting that the city a repulsive environment for local capital.

The sources indicated that the traders threatened to transfer their trade to the Sanaa-held provinces and to leave Aden.
