Saudi Forces Threaten to Target STC Forces in Hadhramout

A commander of the Saudi forces threatened to target those who seek to create chaos in the province, in an explicit and clear threat to the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia in the city of Seiyun of Hadhramout province.

Sources familiar with told YPA that the threat by the commander of the Saudi-led coalition forces, Dhaifallah Al-Mutairi, came during his meeting on Sunday with the leadership of the First Military Region “of the Islah party, and some Saudi-funded tribal sheikhs of Hadramout.

Al-Mutairi indicated that Saudi Arabia would provide all support to maintain the security and stability of the districts of Wadi Hadramout, in addition to prevent any recruitment process in order to avoid any clash with the forces of the first military region, which is controlled by the militants of the Islah party in Wadi Hadhramout.

While the pro-Islah first military region commander, Saleh Timis, considered that the brigades present in the districts of Wadi are “legitimate” forces affiliated with the Ministry of Defense in the coalition-funded government, and would implement any decisions to leave and appoint new leaders, issued by the head of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi.

Timis threatened the “STC” militia by saying: “It will not allow any party to insult its struggle and national history by people who do not want the good for the country.”

The conflicts of the components of the coalition over the districts of Wadi and Desert of Hadhramout have escalated significantly in conjunction with the recent growing American interest in the province and the rest of the provinces of eastern Yemen.
