Saudi Arabia settled the file of Hadhramaut, the most important oil province in eastern Yemen
In a move, whose motives are not yet clear, whether it was a threat in the face of the Presidential Council or a response to UAE’s support for him.

Jamaan bin Saad revealed in a press statement that the meeting with the commander of the Saudi forces, Major General Dhaifallah Al-Mutairi, in Hadhramaut, reached to an agreement of three points, all of which stressed the separation of Hadramout or being a region within a federal state, or a third country in exchange for the south and the north, along with rejecting any acts of chaos, sabotage and violence.
The commander of the Saudi forces met earlier with the sheikhs and notables of the Hadhramaut Valley and desert, as well as the leadership of the first military region, this was after preventing an event for the Transitional Council, which was arranged in memory of what is known as the “Emirati Martyr’s Day.”
Al-Mutairi announced his country’s support for the first military forces in confronting what he described as sabotage and dragging the province into a quagmire of violence.
Saudi Arabia’s movement of Hadhramaut card came at a time when signs of new disagreements with UAE began after the latter supported the Presidential Council as part of efforts to take over it, and returning it to Rashad Al-Alimi to Aden jumped on the Saudi arrangements there.
It was not clear whether Saudi Arabia’s decision to resolve Hadhramaut file was an attempt to block the way for UAE, which is pushing for a final battle against Islah factions there, in a hope of gaining a foothold in the strategic area near the Saudi borders, or an attempt to deepen the differences between Al-Zubaidi and Al-Alimi, in a hope of expelling the latter from Aden. But its timing indicates that Riyadh is turning the oil region of Yemen into the circle of special trusteeship, which puts its pro-authority in southern Yemen in a resource dilemma.
