The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital, Sana’a, held its session on Wednesday to complete the trial procedures in the case filed by the Public Prosecution against Fadl Hussein Al-Masqari and others for forming criminal cells operating under the command of the Saudi-led coalition countries and managed by Saudi intelligence.
These cells monitored and assassinated a number of political and social figures in the capital, Sanaa, and the provinces of Dhamar and Ibb, the latest of which was the assassination of the martyr Hassan Muhammad Zaid, Minister of Youth and Sports on October 27, 2020.
During the session, the court heard a number of prosecution witnesses who were summoned by the Public Prosecution to prove the facts attributed to the defendants in the indictment. The court also reviewed the audio and video-documented confessions of one of the defendants.
In the session, the son of the martyr Hassan Zaid submitted a request for legal retribution from everyone who contributed, participated, and was involved in the killing of his father.
According to a security source, the procedures for collecting inferences in the case of the assassination of the martyr Hassan Zaid revealed previous monitoring and assassination operations carried out by the cell members in the Dhamar and Ibb provinces, including the assassination of Abdullah Al-Salami, the attempt to assassinate Abdulkarim Al-Habsi, director of the Education Office in Dhamar, and an attempt to assassinate the undersecretary of Ibb province, Abdulwahid Al-Maroui, in addition to monitoring national figures, military and security sites, and monitoring army movements in the provinces of Dhamar and Ibb.
At the end of the session, the court decided to postpone the session to Tuesday, January 17, 2023, to enable the Public Prosecution to present the remaining evidence witnesses.
