Hodeida Governor Promises Commercial Sector Huge Customs Cuts

Governor of Hodeida province in Sana’a Government, Muhammad Ayash Quhim, on Thursday announced good news for businessmen, including commercial facilities, major customs reductions through the port of Hodeida.

In a tweet on his Twitter platform, Quhim confirmed that the commercial facilities include 50 percent exemption from customs duties, with half of it being accepted in cash and the other half in checks, while the government bears the costs of demurrage.

The governor of Hodeida called on merchants to ship their goods to the port of Hodeida in order to relieve the burden of the people, especially after the measures taken by the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition to raise the price of the customs dollar.
