In preparation for an impending battle with the Coalition, Sana’a Defense Unveils New Naval Weapons

Major General Mohammad Nasser Al-Atifi, the deputy defense minister in Sana’a, issued a warning to the coalition forces operating through their factions in Yemeni territorial waters on Monday, saying that “the illegal occupation of Yemeni territorial waters will come at a high cost.” He viewed any agreement made with a nation or system regarding military or security facilitation that affects national sovereignty as dubious and not worth the ink it was written with.

Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

In a speech during an expanded meeting of the naval forces’ leadership in Sana’a, Al-Atifi reaffirmed that they have the “full capability to secure, protect, and stabilize international shipping lanes throughout the Yemeni regional waters, emphasizing the equation of confronting “challenge with challenge, escalation with escalation, shelling with shelling, occupation with resistance, maneuvers with practical application, and peace with peace.”

The defense minister praised the command of his naval forces for the “success of recent experiments conducted on a number of modern and advanced naval missiles and warships,” alluding to the introduction of new naval weapons to the frontline and their use in undisclosed experiments.

Rear Admiral Mohammed Fadhl Abdul Nabi, the naval force commander in Sana’a, stated during the same meeting that “the future tasks of the naval forces and coastal defense are to expand their combat operations in the maritime areas and to an extent beyond that,” noting that the development they have made in improving their combat capabilities has made them optimistic and aspirational to have a striking power.

These military statements follow those made yesterday by Mehdi Al-Mashat, the “President of the Supreme Political Council” in Sana’a, who pledged to “target military bases belonging to the Saudi-Emirati coalition forces on Yemeni islands.”
