Key developments in the 18th day of Israeli aggression on Gaza

With denouncing crimes, massacres, and extensive destruction of residential areas, the Israeli occupation entity continues its aggression for the 18th consecutive day on the Gaza Strip, amidst an escalation in bombing operations that have resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded.

Israeli aircraft struck a number of Palestinian homes in the central Gaza Strip, including Jabalia, Khan Younis, Al-Shati Camp, the Al-Qarara area, Rafah, and the area around Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Al-Bureij, on Monday night and early this morning.

The night airstrikes have resulted in at least 140 martyrs, including children and women, and scores more have been injured, some of whom have been classified as critically injured.

The Israeli aggression on the Strip continues, with airstrikes focusing on houses, residential buildings, mosques, schools, roads, and fuel stations. They also specifically target the surroundings of hospitals in various areas of the besieged Strip.

Despite calls for calm between the two parties, the United States, which supports the Israeli occupation in its war on Gaza, stressed the necessity of releasing all prisoners held by Hamas before any discussion of a truce.

While the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, released two elderly Israeli women “for humanitarian and health reasons,” the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza,” urging “brave choices” to be made.

The US military reinforcements in the Middle East, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, pose a threat to “escalate” the ongoing war in Gaza.

Since October 7th, 5,078 martyrs—including 2,055 children and 1,119 women—have been lost as a result of the continuous Israeli aggression, while 15,273 citizens have been injured in various ways.

Today, the Gaza Government Media Office announced that Israel’s nighttime aerial bombardment on the besieged Strip resulted in the martyrdom of at least 140 Palestinians.

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Tel Aviv this morning to express “France’s full solidarity with Israel following Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” carried out by the Palestinian resistance in response to Israeli massacres and attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Élysée stated that President Macron will call for “the preservation of the lives of civilian residents” in Gaza while the occupation launches massive airstrikes there in response to the operation with the declared aim of “destroying Hamas.”
