Imposing a Blockade on Saudi Shipments to Israel at Bab Al-Mandeb

Sana’a forces expanded their maritime target list for the first time since their decision to close Bab el-Mandeb to Israeli ships. What is Saudi Arabia’s connection?

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to a statement by Sana’a forces spokesman General Yahya Saree, targeting ships in the Red Sea will not be limited to those flying the occupation’s flag or owned by Israeli companies. It will also extend to ships operating for the benefit of Israeli companies.

So far, Sana’a has not clarified the motives behind its decision to expand the maritime target list. However, the timing of this move indicates it is a response to a Saudi action that circumvented the ban on ships heading to Israel in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb.

According to Israeli media, Saudi Arabia recently sent a new oil shipment to the Israeli port of Eilat. It utilized a disguised transport vessel known as “Silk 2,” flying the flag of Malta, registered there, and operated by an Israeli company.

These developments indicate Sana’a’s decision to narrow the gap in Gulf support for the occupation, especially regarding oil, and thwart attempts to bypass the decision to halt oil shipments to Israel.
