US Central Command reveals an attack on a third ship in the Red Sea

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that four attacks occurred on Saturday on three separate commercial vessels operating in international waters south of the Red Sea.

The US command claimed that the American destroyer USS Carney received distress calls and moved to try to prevent the attacks, successfully shooting down three drones.

According to a statement issued by CENTCOM, the first attack occurred at around 9:15 a.m. Sana’a time, targeting the vessel M/V Unity Explorer and impacting the area adjacent to the ship. The second attack took place at 12:35 p.m. on the same ship.

The statement indicated that a third attack targeted the vessel Number Nine at around 3:30 pm, and an hour later, the vessel M/V SOPHIE II sent a distress call reporting that it had been hit by a missile and sustained minor damage.

The Yemeni armed forces announced that they targeted two ships affiliated with Israel in the Red Sea as part of their operations to prevent Israeli vessels from navigating in this passage in support of the Palestinian people.
