Allowing an American battleship to conduct a rescue operation in the Red Sea

Yemen allowed on Tuesday an American battleship to carry out a rescue operation for the crew of a Norwegian ship that was targeted in the Red Sea off the western coast.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Yemeni forces don’t object to the American battleship USS Mason carrying out a rescue operation for the crew of the ship “Estrinda,” which attempted to ignore Yemeni warnings and was targeted by a missile, according to the Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department in Sana’a.

In response to a US Department of Defense official’s statement to Alhurra TV, Brigadier General Bin Amer commented that he considered the sailing of the battleship Mason towards an area only 60 nautical miles from the Yemeni coast only to assist in rescuing the ship’s crew.

Fearing attacks, this is the first time an American official has preempted the arrival of the American battleship to deliver a message to Sana’a.

Mason is one of several American battleships recently tasked with escorting cargo ships heading to Israeli ports and has been targeted multiple times before being withdrawn, like other ships from the passages near Yemen in the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden.

This step indicates that the American leadership has come to realize the danger of any military warship movement in light of Sana’a’s decision to ban Israeli ships’ activities in its regional waters and warn it of the consequences of interference by foreign forces stationed in the Red and Arabian Seas and the Gulf of Aden.
