American experts and analysts believe that the US has the ability to launch a surprise attack on Yemen as a deterrent measure to force the country to lift the blockade it imposes on Israel in the Red Sea and halt operations against Israeli sites in the Red Sea. However, this belief is based on a misreading of the Yemeni forces, which have completed their readiness and preparedness to fully implicate the US if it initiates any attack against it.

According to sources cited by Yemeni news, Sana’a has not ruled out, since its first operations in support of Gaza, the possibility of American or Israeli attempts to launch an aggression against Yemen. It has identified a wide range of targets that extend to American bases in the Gulf and the Horn of Africa, as well as all American presence in the Arabian and Red Seas. Operationally, Yemen’s forces are ready to deal with all targets in their arsenal with appropriate weapons.
The leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, has been clear and decisive in responding to recent American threats, including the announcement of the formation of an alliance to protect Israeli ships. In his speech on December 20, he said, “If the Americans want to escalate further, involve themselves more, or commit folly by targeting our country or waging war against us, we will not stand idly by. We will target their battleships, American interests, and American maritime movement with our missiles, drones, and military operations. We are not a people who stand idle while the enemy strikes us. We are a people who refuse oppression.” He also warned America’s allies that they are risking their interests and the interests of their people in every sense of the word.
As confirmation that no American strike will go without response, Al-Houthi stated that the Americans should not think that they can strike here and there and then calm the situation or send mediation from here or there to calm it. If it gets involved, then it is involved in every sense of the word—involved in real trouble.
As the American mobilization continues in the Red Sea and its military buildup in the region, the coastal city of Hudaydah in western Yemen witnessed an important meeting for the leaders of the armed and security forces, discussing scenarios for confronting the US if it decides to attack Yemen. This meeting apparently revealed some of the targets that will be under Yemeni strikes, as a map showing the sites of American military bases in the region was displayed in the meeting room.
In addition to the popular mobilization witnessed in recent days, where there has been a heavy influx of volunteers to training centers, with a number exceeding 100,000 fighters so far, Sana’a possesses a diverse arsenal of weapons, some of which have been previously announced and others that have been tested practically but have not been disclosed yet. These include ballistic and winged missiles, drones, and explosive boats, as well as modern naval mines.
The operations against Israel have led to an unprecedented popular alignment in Yemen alongside Sana’a. Since the start of the battle for the Aqsa flood, 15 million demonstrations have taken place. Any American aggression against Yemen will undoubtedly lead to further cohesion, putting the US in a complex scenario that will not be easy for them, similar to the Vietnam scenario.
It is certain that any escalation in the region will have serious consequences, as it may lead to a wider regional war that would threaten stability and security in the Middle East.
