American confirmation of the targeting of a battleship in the Red Sea

The US confirmed on Sunday that one of its battleships was attacked while crossing the Red Sea. This comes just a few days after Yemen banned the activity of American battleships.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The U.S. Central Command reported that the battleship, USS LaBonne, was targeted by a drone attack, claiming that the attack occurred while it was crossing international waters in the Red Sea.

The command claimed to have intercepted the drone, describing the action as “self-defense.”

This is the first attack since Sana’a announced the ban on the activity of American battleships in the Red Sea following their attack on Yemeni patrol boats, which resulted in the martyrdom of 10 sailors.

Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for Sana’a, issued a warning to American forces against engaging with drones or escorting Israeli ships.

The American statement reveals the commitment of the U.S. Navy to the directives and its attempt to avoid any reaction from Sana’a to the downing of the drone, claiming that it was targeting it.
