America imposes a blockade on Yemen

On Sunday, the US implemented a blockade on Yemen by issuing a list that specifies the prohibition of all transactions with Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department issued a new statement outlining the list of prohibitions in Yemen, coinciding with the decision to designate the “Ansar Allah” movement as a terrorist organization. Among the prohibitions are financial transfers.

The announcement prompted financial transfer companies to suspend their operations in Yemen, including Western Union, according to media reports.

Prohibiting financial transactions with Yemen, with the exception of some transfers for the purposes of paying taxes and obtaining licenses, as well as diplomatic missions that abide by global terrorism sanctions lists, in which America has classified Yemen. This is one of several cards that America uses to pressure Yemen to impose its agenda to halt Yemeni operations in the Red and Arabian Seas.

It should be noted that prior to the designation decision, the US Treasury had imposed sanctions on Yemeni exchange companies and financial transfers in order to limit the flow of food and the importation of goods and foodstuffs as part of a plan to restore the siege of Yemen, which continued for several years during the war led by Saudi Arabia since 2015.

Additionally, America has suspended the activities of international organizations involved in distributing aid to the people of Yemen, a majority of whom suffer from famine and poverty due to the war and the ongoing siege for the ninth year in a row.
