European concern over the repercussions of military deployment in the Red Sea amid American-British pressure to attack Yemen

Concern escalated among European countries on Monday with the official commencement of the military mission in the Red Sea.

This coincides with the escalation of the pace of Yemeni operations amid the American-British failure to contain them.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to European media sources quoting high-ranking Union officials, the European operation is described as “fraught with risks,” indicating concerns about the targeting of Western battleships and the escalation against their ships, with the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait being one of their vital maritime passages in the region.

The unveiling of the European Union coincides with the announcement by the Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, of the official launch of the Union’s military mission.

The expected mission includes the deployment of German, French, and Italian battleships and naval vessels along the areas connecting the Bab Al-Mandeb and the Strait of Hormuz.

Borrell stated in a recent statement that the objective of the mission is to revitalize the defensive force of the Union.

Despite the Union’s earlier announcement of sending a message to Sana’a through the Omani mediator, confirming its non-participation in the American-British aggression, the recent statements issued by Union leadership following meetings with the US Secretary of State and the British Prime Minister, who met with the French Foreign Minister and the President of the European Commission, along with condemnations of the attacks in the Red Sea, while emphasizing the necessity of confronting the Yemeni attacks, indicate the Union’s submission to British-American pressure.

Several Yemeni leaders warned the Union about the dangers of militarizing the Red Sea, which is one of the most important maritime passages for Europe.

Mohammed Al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, called on Western countries to learn from Britain and America, which rushed to protect Israel and whose ships became a legitimate target for the Yemeni forces.
