The Indian Ocean witnessed, on Wednesday, the sinking of the first ship after it was hit off the eastern coast of Yemen.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Reuters reported, citing its sources, that it is likely that the ship, which was evacuated last week due to water leakage in the control room, has sunk.
The Russian state-owned shipping company, Sovcomflot, announced last Wednesday that it had rescued the ship’s 19 crew members after receiving a distress call on June 28th.
The ship was hit on June 23rd off the port of Nishtun in Al-Mahra.
Although the ship is one of several that have been sunk in Yemen, it is the first to be sunk in the Indian Ocean.
