The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the ten-month-old war between Israel and Hamas has reached at least 39,965.
The ministry said in a statement that “36 dead were taken to hospitals and 54 wounded in the past twenty-four hours” as of Wednesday morning.
It noted that the total number of wounded “reached 92,294 wounded since the seventh of October October.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian casualties, mostly children and women, a humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure.
