Philippe Lazzarini renews call for ceasefire following another ‘horrific attack’ on UNRWA school

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said another “horrific attack” was reported on Wednesday on an UNRWA school in Gaza City, killing and injuring children.
Lazzarini explained in a post on the X website that some of the children were “burned to death” and asked: “Is there any humanity left?”
“Gaza is no longer a place for children. They are the first victims of this cruel war.

The United Nations warned on Wednesday that Israel’s “ongoing” military evacuation orders in Gaza threaten the people of the enclave with further forced displacement, raising fears that vital services could soon be cut off.
After more than 10 months of war in Gaza, almost the entire population of the Strip has been displaced at least once – often several times – due to repeated evacuation orders, intense Israeli shelling and continued hostilities.
