The government media office in the Gaza Strip said at least 33 Palestinians were killed Friday evening during heavy Israeli shelling on a number of houses near the Nassar junction in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
The office said at least 21 women were among the dead, with the death toll likely to exceed 50 because “there were many dead under the rubble and under buildings” that were bombed “over the heads of their civilian inhabitants”, according to the office.
The media office said more than 85 people were injured, including seriously.
Earlier, medical sources said that more than 60 people were killed during the ongoing raids on the Gaza Strip since dawn on Friday, 45 of them were killed in the Jabalya camp.
