Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Mahmoud Basal, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, stated today, Sunday, that over 100,000 people are living in the northern part of the besieged Strip, with 60% of them being children and women.
Speaking to the Al-Mayadeen channel, Basal highlighted the devastating health crisis in the area, stating, “Northern Gaza lacks access to any medical treatment, and regrettably, the world that talks about democracy remains ignoring the suffering of Gaza.”
Basal added that the medical teams currently present in the northern Gaza Strip are civilian teams, expressing his concern about the occupation’s reluctance to allow any medical system to operate there.
The spokesman also pointed out that the humanitarian situation is deteriorating rapidly, as “there are 137 martyrs under the rubble of the building destroyed by the occupation in the Beit Lahia project a few days ago.”
He noted that civilians in the northern Strip are pleading due to the lack of food and medicine, emphasizing the lack of response from any international organization to their appeals so far.
Basal revealed a rise in the martyrs’ toll in northern Gaza, with the number reaching over 1,300 in less than a month since the tightening of the Israeli blockade.
For the 30th consecutive day, the residents of northern Gaza, Jabalia camp, and Beit Lahia continue to suffer from Israeli siege and starvation amid intense aerial and artillery bombardment and complete isolation from the rest of the Strip.
