Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Today, the Civil Defense in Gaza announced that the Israeli occupation army forcefully prevent civil defense teams from assisting victims in northern Gaza, adding that the situation of families in the north portends a humanitarian disaster.
The Civil Defense reported that “the occupation continues to disrupt our services by force in the northern part of the Strip for the 14th consecutive day,” adding that “they abducted 10 of our teams, including one who was injured, and one of them was later released.”
It pointed out that “the occupation is obscuring the humanitarian and medical work system to put pressure the people in the northern Gaza Strip,” indicating that “they are on the verge of a real famine in the north due to the occupation persisting in preventing aid from entering.”
This comes after the Israeli Knesset decision to ban the work of UNRWA, with the aim of deepening the humanitarian and living crisis of the Palestinian people, as the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” quoted UNRWA’s communications director, Juliette Touma, as saying: “Israel has no alternative to the agency’s activity in Gaza.”
Touma added: Halting UNRWA’s activities could lead to the collapse of the food and aid delivery system for two million residents of the Strip, and assuming that closing UNRWA would eliminate the problem of Palestinian refugees is a naive concept.
The Israeli occupation army imposes an inhumane blockade and prevents food, water, and medicine from entering northern Gaza, targeting hospitals and displaced persons, as part of a genocidal war against the Palestinian people for over a year with American political, military, and economic support.
