Due to Sana’a attacks, the Pentagon is facing a shortage of key munitions

The American newspaper “The Washington Post” has confirmed that the Pentagon is currently facing a shortage of key munitions used to repel attacks by the “Houthis” in Yemen.

The newspaper indicated in a report that “more than $4.8 billion has been spent to enhance offensive and defensive operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, where the U.S. Navy was intercepting drones and “Houthi” missiles on a nearly daily basis.”

Furthermore, it added, a senior American defense official, speaking like some others on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military moves, said these considerations require “extremely real concessions.”

In relation to this, “The Washington Post” addressed the US’ withdrawal of aircraft carriers from the region, confirming that “for the first time since the early weeks of the war in Gaza, the US will not have an aircraft carrier nearby.”

It highlighted the ongoing crisis in the Middle East that has begun to strain the U.S. Department of Defense, leading to fueling concerns about the American military’s ability to balance imminent threats to U.S. interests in the region.
