Borrell condemns Israeli raids, talks about ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Monday denounced the recent Israeli bombardment of Jabalya, noting that the term “ethnic cleansing” is increasingly used in relation to the situation in the northern Gaza Strip, where Israel is waging a deadly offensive.

“The term ethnic cleansing is increasingly used to describe what is happening in northern Gaza,” he said via the X platform.

Borrell strongly condemned the recent Israeli raids on Jabalia in the Gaza Strip, stressing that “the daily reality of forced displacement violates international law.”

Since October 6, the Israeli occupation army has launched an air and ground offensive in the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in Jabalya.
