Extensive Yemeni operation in the Red Sea

Yemen carried out a new maritime operation on Tuesday as part of support for Gaza and Lebanon.

The UK Trade Operations, a Royal Navy agency, confirmed a series of explosions off the western coast of Yemen in the past hours, with a ship captain reporting explosions near their vessel, apparently indicating that it was being targeted.

The nature of the new operation is not yet clear, but the agency’s talk of a series of explosions indicates that it is a major operation.

This operation marks the second within two days, revealed so far by the American British coalition, where maritime agencies had previously confirmed Yemeni forces intercepting another ship and forcing it to change course.

Yemeni forces have been carrying out operations in support of Gaza since November of last year, and their pace is expected to escalate this year as the fifth phase of operations reaches its peak.
