The US Central Command posted a video clip of the American aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln” on Tuesday evening, in response to Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi’s allusion to targeting an American battleship.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The clip released by the US Central Command an hour ago included footage of a fighter jet launching from the deck of a US aircraft carrier.

The US command accompanied a short sentence to the old clip, saying that Lincoln supports US operations against what it described as the “Al-Houthis.”

This is the first time that the US command has released such a clip of an aircraft carrier, which the US Department of Defense recently announced was being recalled from the Gulf.

The release of the clip follows a tweet by Mohammed Al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, alluded to targeting an American battleship.

Al-Houthi tweeted on his social media page the phrase “U.S.,” referring to the series of names of American battleships, coinciding with Britain’s disclosure of a series of attacks in the Red Sea.

It is unclear whether America is attempting to showcase its naval capabilities amid escalating its raids on Yemen or signaling that the battleship was not hit. However, the clip brings to mind a previous US move for aircraft carrier “Eisenhower,” which was targeted several times in the Red Sea and later shown to have sustained damage with the decision to withdraw it for maintenance.
