International newspapers and websites focused on the repercussions of the war in the Gaza Strip, most notably the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, and the efforts of the occupation to prevent the International Criminal Court from investigating the crimes it commits against the Palestinians.
In an interview with the French newspaper Libération, Isabelle Defourny of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) spoke of the “catastrophic situation and unspeakable atrocities in various areas of the Gaza Strip,” saying that “the most surprising thing is the massive destruction, and “what is certain is that we are facing a campaign of extermination of the people of Gaza.”
Devorenty, who was in the Gaza Strip a month and a half ago, expressed concern as winter comes, “while humanitarian aid is blocked or looted.”
On the other hand, the French newspaper “Le Figaro” wrote that the accusations against Israel from abroad are increasing day by day, and at the same time the debate is escalating at home on several issues, the latest of which revolves around the legality of military orders.
A number of Israeli reservists question the legitimacy of the orders applied on the battlefield, and assert that the officers allowed themselves to “behave excessively on the ground in Gaza.
Swiss newspaper Luton said the IDF’s investigation into possible war crimes committed by its soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip is a way Israel seeks to avoid an investigation by the International Criminal Court.
