The Civil Defense announced on Saturday the recovery of the remains of 12 martyrs from under the rubble of a house destroyed by Israeli occupation forces during the war in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Abdullah Majdalawi, the Civil Defense’s Public Relations Director in Gaza City, stated in a press release that the Civil Defense recovered the remains of 12 martyrs from the Batniji family home in the Asqoula area of the Zeitoun neighborhood.
He added that the Civil Defense began work on recovering the bodies of martyrs from the Maghrabi family home in the Asqoula area after completing the recovery from the Batniji family home.
Civil Defense teams have recently intensified their efforts to recover the bodies and remains of martyrs trapped under rubble. The most notable of these efforts was the recovery of 112 martyrs from the Abu Sharia and Hasayna families in early August, after they were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted a residential area in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Israel committed hundreds of massacres during the war of extermination on Gaza, deliberately destroying homes and bombing them with their inhabitants inside, resulting in the martyrdom of about 74,000 citizens and more than 174,000 wounded since October 7, 2023.
