The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned on Thursday that hospitals in the Gaza Strip will stop working or reduce their services within 48 hours due to fuel shortages, as Israel refuses to enter the Strip, which has been waging war for more than a year.

The Director General of Field Hospitals, Dr. Marwan al-Hams, said in the city of Khan Yunis: “We issue an urgent warning, and warn that the entire hospitals of the Gaza Strip will stop working, or reduce their services within 48 hours due to the occupation’s obstruction of the entry of fuel.”

He added: “We call on international institutions to take advantage of the decision of the International Criminal Court to stop the war of genocide in Gaza, and to bring in all the fuel, medicine and basic needs of the Gaza Strip, and to send medical delegations to the Gaza Strip in general and north in particular.”

Earlier, the ministry said in a statement: “In the late hours of last night, the occupation forces re-targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, and injured 6 working medical staff, including serious cases admitted to intensive care.”

The statement added: «The targeting also led to the destruction of the main electricity generator in the hospital, and the hole of water tanks to make the hospital without oxygen or water, which portends a serious danger to the lives of patients, and the staff working inside the hospital, where there are 80 patients, and 8 cases in intensive care».
