The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are being repeatedly displaced while facing shortages of food and water.

At his daily press conference, the UN spokesman said aid workers continue to work at the risk of their lives to provide assistance to those in need. Israeli airstrikes on Saturday killed four humanitarian workers, three from the Global Central Kitchen and one from Save the Children, bringing the number of aid workers killed in Gaza since October 2023 to 341, Dujarric said.

The World Central Kitchen suspended operations in Gaza after the incident. In a press statement, Muhannad Hadi, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the oPt, said the continued killing of aid workers was an unacceptable violation of international law and exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe.

As food security deteriorates across the Gaza Strip, the World Food Programme (WFP) noted that commercial shipments to Gaza are at their lowest levels in months, with fresh food and meat scarce and, if any, very expensive.
