UN rapporteur: Israel’s ongoing ‘brutality’ in Gaza must stop

The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, said it was time to take action and do everything possible to stop Israel’s ongoing “brutality” in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a speech during her participation in a conference at the University of Vienna, Austria, on Friday, under the title “The Israeli War: Ethnic Colonial Cleansing.”

Albanese stressed that Israel is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

“What is happening in Gaza should not be described as just a war, where there are rules for war as well, but what is happening there is total destruction.”

With US support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, that has left more than 150,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly.
