One million displaced Palestinians in Gaza at risk of cold in winter

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that “about one million displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are at risk of cold and rain this winter.”

In a series of posts on its X account, the UN agency wrote: “Displaced people in Gaza need protection from rain and cold, and only about 23 percent of their needs have been met.”

She pointed out that “945,000 Palestinians are at risk of extreme cold in the Gaza Strip this winter.”

Describing the dire conditions Palestinians are living in Gaza, UNRWA said that “aid is urgently needed to meet the enormous needs as the crisis worsens.”

In a separate post, UNRWA said that “Palestinians across the Gaza Strip are searching through the rubble of their destroyed homes to save what remains of their property after the ongoing Israeli bombardment.”

“As the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip continues, civilian casualties increase, homes and infrastructure are reduced to rubble, and the human cost of this war is unbearable.”
