As the military operation launched by the Israeli occupation on the northern Gaza Strip enters its eightieth day, shocking figures and data are revealing about the extent of the killing and destruction that has befallen the region.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, said that the number of martyrs who arrived at hospitals and were identified since the last invasion of the northern Gaza Strip exceeded 4,500 martyrs, while entire families are still under the rubble that rescue crews could not reach, noting that the number of wounded as a result of the aggression exceeded 12,000 injuries, while the number of those arrested by the occupation forces exceeded 1,500 Palestinians.
He stated that the occupation forces, since the beginning of their ground offensive on the northern Gaza Strip on the fifth of last October, have besieged and displaced its residents and forced them to pass through a military checkpoint and subject them to humiliating search there, pointing out that more than a quarter of a million people live in the northern Gaza Strip, after the occupation forces forced more than 220,000 of them to leave their homes under heavy fire, threatening them with death and blowing up residential squares on the heads of their residents.
He added that the total population who were subjected to forced displacement amounted to 88 percent of the residents in northern Gaza, according to special estimates, stressing that the photos received from the northern Gaza Strip governorate, which match the testimonies of Palestinians.
