Sa’ada – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Saudi forces continue today to violate the ceasefire in Sa’ada, targeting the border areas with intense shelling, exacerbating the suffering of the population, and posing a direct threat to the hopes for peace in Yemen.
Local sources reported today that the Saudi army targeted border sites in the districts of Razih and Shada in Sa’ada Governorate with artillery shells.
This escalation comes amid previous reports of widespread violations of the existing truce between Sana’a and Riyadh.
The Sa’ada Governorate Police recorded 96 violations of the UN truce by the Saudi forces during the month of Jumada Al-Akhirah, including 26 cases of ground shelling and 69 cases of gunfire by the Saudi border guards, in addition to one air raid carried out by coalition aircraft.
These violations resulted in dozens of civilian casualties, with the statistics issued by the Governorate Police indicating the death of 13 civilians and the injury of 92 others, most of them serious, as a result of the gunfire by the Saudi border guards and the artillery shelling of the border villages.
Observers fear that this repeated escalation will lead to an explosion of the military situation in the region and threaten the collapse of any ceasefire efforts, complicating the efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.
Repeated Saudi violations threaten peace hopes in Yemen
