Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Hamas movement confirmed today, Saturday, that the violations the Palestinian prisoners are subjected to in the occupation’s prisons necessitate urgent intervention by the UN, the international community, and human rights organizations to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the prisoners.
The movement explained, in a statement on Saturday, that many of the released prisoners were directly transferred to hospitals due to their exposure to torture and abuse, considering what happened to them as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
On the other hand, media outlets in Gaza confirmed that the prisoners who were released today were subjected to severe beatings for several days before their release, noting that some of them suffered rib fractures as a result of the brutal assaults.
In this context, the released prisoner Issa Al-Drabee, who was released from “Ramon” prison, said in an interview with the Al-Mayadeen channel that the occupation practiced a systematic policy of starvation against the prisoners, while its soldiers lived their daily lives as if they were in their homes.
The Palestinian Prisoner Club also reported that the occupation is practicing organized terrorism against the released prisoners by preventing their families from holding any welcoming celebrations for them.
In Ramallah, the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate announced the transfer of 10 released prisoners to hospitals due to their poor health conditions, while the released prisoners in Gaza were transferred to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis for medical examinations.
In contrast, Hamas stressed that the good physical and psychological condition in which the released Israeli prisoners appear confirms the resistance’s moral commitment towards the prisoners, compared to the brutal violations committed by the occupation against the Palestinian prisoners.
