Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
A former Israeli intelligence official warned that the threat posed by Sana’a’s forces will not end even if a permanent ceasefire is reached in Gaza, referring to the Yemeni force has become a constant part of the equation of conflict in the region.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC News) website, quoted Danny Citrinowicz, the former Israeli intelligence official and current researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, who said that “the genie is out of the bottle,” referring to the fact that Sana’a’s forces, in his description, pose “a different kind of challenge,” and it will not be easy to contain or eliminate them.
The report indicated that the repeated Israeli and American airstrikes on Yemeni army sites failed to deter Sana’a, as it continued to target Israel with long-range missiles, successfully hitting populated areas more than 2,000 kilometers away, which significantly disrupted the lives of Israelis.
Citrinowicz affirmed that Israel “faces a major intelligence challenge regarding the Houthis’ capabilities,” explaining that the focus of the Israeli security agencies was on “other more urgent threats,” leaving a gap in information about the military and tactical capabilities of the Yemeni forces and Ansar Allah.
The report stated that the US-led coalition forces “were unable to reduce the Houthis’ influence or weaken their combat capabilities,” despite the intensive airstrikes that targeted “ports, oil infrastructure, weapons sites, and airports in Sana’a.”
Upcoming Escalation?
In a related context, the leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, confirmed in recent statements that Yemen is ready for an immediate return to war if US President Donald Trump’s plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza is implemented, or if the Israeli occupation violates the ceasefire agreement.
This escalation raises many questions about the extent of the growing repercussions of the defeat of Israel and America in containing the threat facing the Israeli occupation entity, which, according to the former Israeli intelligence official, has become a permanent and ongoing threat and has become part of any future conflict developments in occupied Palestine.
