The Ministry of Public Works and Housing in the Gaza Strip announced that preliminary estimates of the extent of destruction caused by the Israeli genocidal war indicate that 280,000 housing units are completely destroyed or partially damaged to make them uninhabitable.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the number of units that have been counted in the field so far has reached 250,000 housing units, including 170,000 units completely destroyed, and 80,000 uninhabitable units.
The ministry confirmed that its field crews have worked since the first day of the aggression to document the extent of the damage, despite the great risks they faced, as a number of its cadres rose while performing their duty. After the ceasefire took effect, crews were able to reach new areas that could not be entered during the war, which contributed to intensified field surveys.
