Two Palestinians were killed on Friday in shelling by an Israeli march on a gathering of civilians east of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.
Medical sources said that two Palestinians were killed by Israeli shelling targeting them near the Al-Mu’tasim mosque, at the end of Mansoura Street, in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
The Israeli military admitted targeting Palestinian militants in the northern Gaza Strip for allegedly trying to plant an explosive device.
The army said in a statement that its forces had targeted Palestinian militia fighters in the area, but did not provide further details.
This targeting comes in light of the continued Israeli escalation and incursions into various areas of the Gaza Strip, resulting in more civilian casualties.
