On Wednesday, global shipping companies linked to the Israeli occupation resumed their lengthy voyages across the Cape of Good Hope, following the resumption of Yemeni operations amid British warnings.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Navigation reports indicated that Danish, French, German, and American companies, most prominently shipping giant Maersk, have diverted the destinations of ships that were scheduled to pass through the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait to the Cape of Good Hope.
The sources pointed out that these companies fear that these ships will be subjected to new attacks.
This step came hours after the Yemeni forces announced the entry into force of the decision to ban navigation to Israeli ports in the Red and Arab Seas.
Earlier, the British Commercial Operations Authority had called on shipping companies to review the extent to which the Yemeni conditions apply to them to avoid being targeted in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arab Sea.
The decision of these companies to change the course of their ships heading to Israeli ports is the result of the bitter experiences they went through in the recent months following Yemen’s decision to enter the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood in November 2023.
More than 200 cargo and oil ships have been targeted for being linked to the Israeli occupation or their attempts to violate the Yemeni ban over about a year of confrontations.
